Two Democrat NY Lawmakers Want Tide Pods To Look Less Yummy
State Sen. Brad Hoylman, who is a Manhattan Democrat, and Assemblywoman Aravella Simotas, a Democrat from Queens, want Tide Pods changed in order to make them look less delicious. Their proposal is based on the fact that a FEW people have died from participating in the Tide Pod challenge. This is just another example of New York living up to its nickname “the Nanny State.” As someone who was born and raised in New York State (but has since moved to a freedom-loving state), I know why NY has so many residents fleeing in record numbers. New York loves to tax your brains out, control your lives, and give you nothing in return.
“Big Bad Brad” Hoylman said, “We’re asking for all laundry detergent pods to be uniform in color. His cohort, Simotas, added her two cents: “All we have to make sure is that public safety trumps [Procter & Gamble’s] profits.”
These two brainiacs are also saying that they fear for the safety of children and those with dementia who may mistake the Tide Pods for a delicious snack. However, what they apparently don’t understand is that no children or people with dementia have died because they think the detergent packs are food. Fools are eating the Pods because of a challenge that ONE person started. There are many “harmful if ingested” products that look tasty, so it would only be fair for them to go after every single one of these products. That’s not feasible, Brad and Aravella.
Proctor and Gamble CEO, David Taylor, said in a statement “…even the most stringent standards and protocols, labels and warnings can’t prevent intentional abuse fueled by poor judgment and the desire for popularity.” He is correct, and if Tide Pods are forced to make the color change, then the idiots who are taking the Tide Pod challenge will just move on to something else. Then what? The next en vogue “challenge” product will have to be changed as well.
New York lawmakers could be making better use of their time, but, they don’t care about any of that. They just want some face time on the news.
